HORNBILLS DISCOVER ACT NOW! DIARY MEDIA
  What?
  Where?
  Why?

Not one, but ten globally threatened hornbill species are under siege from the harsh realities of current land use policies in Malaysia, in particular within and surrounding the Belum-Temengor forest.

The population of hornbills in Belum-Temengor are rapidly declining due to logging and poaching activities which take place within the forest reserve.

Home to perhaps the largest congregation of hornbills in the world, Belum-Temengor is the only place in Malaysia where all 10 species of hornbills are found.

It is also one of the only places in the world where sightings of more than 2,000 individuals in a congregation have been recorded. These numbers are unprecedented in the world, making it an area of global conservation importance.
